1.) I go to the office supply store and buy tags in bulk or you can make your own. I used "Antique Linen" and smeared it over the tag and edges. Do not cover the whole tag letting the color of the tag come through.



2.) Next I used "Tea Dye" ink and hit the edges. Use a stipple or stencil brush and swirl it on the ink pad and then brush it onto the tag hitting some areas to make them darker, allowing the other colors to come through. You can repeat with another color or stop depending on the look you want to achieve.



3.) Next stamp image or sentiment over the tag. If you are just stamping a sentiment choose a darker/bolder color. I used "Fired Brick" with the "Believe" stamp.

4.) If you are doing a multistep stamp make sure the secondary/background stamp is a lighter color. The green color is called "Peeled Paint" and the sentiment stamp I used is called "Frayed Burlap".
